APPLICATION SUBMISSION & EVALUATION
Q: What happens after my application is submitted?
A: All applications are reviewed and evaluated based on the following criteria:
Basic Criteria Met
- Written Application submitted by deadline and responses meet criteria to be considered a candidate
- Video Application submitted by deadline
Video Evaluation Scoring
Evaluation panel will review applications and rate candidate’s responses based on demonstration of the following qualities:
- Motivation: including career aspirations
- Inspiration: including leadership/vision
- Ambition: including passion/drive
- Impact/Need: including role of scholarship in applicant’s life
- The ‘Jessi Factor’: Grit/Determination/Integrity to name a few
Q: How are the scholarship recipients selected
A: Finalists are selected based on meeting the basic criteria/deadlines and demonstration of the qualities listed above
APPLICANT & FINALIST NOTIFICATION:
Q: How will I know if I was selected as a scholarship recipient?
A: Prior to the public announcement, recipients are privately contacted by a representative from The Jessi Combs Foundation using the contact information submitted in your application.
Q: How do applicants find out if they’ve been selected as a scholarship recipient or not?
A: JCF publicly announces the names of the scholarship recipients via press release and social media platforms after the final recipients have been privately notified and verbally accepted.
SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT PROCESS:
Q: What happens after recipients are notified?
A: A follow-up call will be scheduled to welcome scholarship recipients to the JCF Family and guide them through the required next steps.
This includes explanation of:
- JCF’s mission as an organization
- JCF’s valued behaviors and code of conduct policy which extends to affiliates
- JCF key contacts, roles & responsibilities
- Terms & Conditions of acceptance
- Funds distribution process
